Hello, I’m Sophie Brooks, owner and founder of Barker Brooks Creative. I am a marketing specialist, designer and photographer. Barker is my dog, Eddie. We are based in the lovely village of Hartley Wintney in North Hampshire, working with fabulous businesses all over the UK.

I adore working with small, ambitious businesses and my previous experience makes me a whizz at maximising limited marketing budgets for them. Barker Brooks Creative is a small business too, so I understand the challenges my clients face.
I’ve been creative for as long as I can remember. My first artistic stroke of genius was taking a bespoke birthday cake from my brother and rearranging it into a cakey-mountain masterpiece in the kitchen sink. I think it’s important to clarify that I was only 3 years old at the time…

Fast forward to the present day and my love of cake and all things creative remains. Following a degree in Photography and MA in Photography and Design, I was eager to use my arty skills to make a living. Whilst freelancing as a wedding photographer after graduating, I stumbled across a wonderful opportunity to run a studio for a chain of family portrait studios in the South East. I was responsible for setting up their marketing strategy, social media accounts and coaching a team of passionate photographers.
Following this I spent eight years working with a friendly four branch estate agency. I had the pleasure of setting up their marketing department from scratch. During my time there, they won ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ with Negotiator Magazine, against some pretty big brand names in the property industry.
Since setting up Barker Brooks Creative in 2020, I’ve supported a variety of small and medium sized businesses across the UK. I’ve helped professionals in the property, recruitment, transport, retail, education and event sectors.
Keeping up to date with all the latest marketing trends is super important, so I make sure I regularly study marketing, social media and design courses to keep up! I am a proud Associate Member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

I was recommended Sophie by a close friend to shoot a stargazing event and oh my giddy goat, she did not disappoint with the results. Amazing photos that captured the event beautifull. Sophie doesn't get in the way of the event and gets brilliant candid photos that looks so professional and amazing head shots. I finally have some incredible photos for my website, marketing and ads. Will be using Barker Brooks Creative again in the future. As an added bonus Sophie is so lovely and really cares about getting the right shots so will take the time to make sure you are happy and discuss what kind of photos you would like. So happy, if I could give 100 stars I would.

I work with Sophie on a joint account where I do the website work, and Sophie does all the social media work. She's rapidly expanding the followers for the client on both Instagram and Facebook. The client is in a specialist niche, and Sophie makes the topics appear simple in her on-brand, professional posts. If you need something a little light-hearted, then she can also produce video reels with a great comedic touch to them - very genius. Recommended!

She looked over my website copy and elevated it. She set up my social media accounts on instagram and facebook, and has advertised for me in community groups.
